Abe’s Muffin Review: Wild Blueberry Smash

Mmm, muffins!

While at Whole Foods in Chelsea, I browsed around to see what kind of vegan desserts were there. Among all the baked goods, the Abe’s Muffins container stood out. The label on it was too cute to overlook, so I picked it up (I love great packaging).

I don’t know how many of you are into counting calories but if you are, I have good news! You can enjoy half a container of these muffins (there are 6 in a pack) guilt free, it’s only 200 calories! Not too bad, huh?

Here’s the breakdown:

Although this is a blueberry muffin, it has sort of a lemony taste to it. The “blueberry-ness” isn’t very prominent maybe because the berries in it are so tiny and scarce.

Score- 2 out of 5 forks*

Soft, spongy, and moist- like a muffin should be! (In my opinion, of course). I was thoroughly impressed by the texture. As you probably already know, vegan baked goods can sometimes be sooooo dry. But not these Abe’s Muffins, oh no. When you bite into this little dessert you will feel your teeth sink into it. That’s how soft, spongy, and moist it is!

Final thoughts- If you used to eat Entenmann’s Little Bites Blueberry Muffins before you went vegan, you’ll love these! Also, a side of your favorite non-dairy milk (I love soy and almond) would go great with the muffins.

Rebuy? Na, but I’d try another flavor for sure! Let me know if you have a favorite Abe’s Muffins flavor that you think I should try 🙂
